In relation to the Caribbean, do not think you can afford anything in the Bahamas.
I recommend you visit the British Virgin Islands and Tortola, Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda, are achievable. We stayed at Long Bay Resort was beautiful, cheap and almost no people there. We loved it. We will be in August. Then we took a fairy Jost Van Dyke, also beautiful.
You can also try the American Virgin Islands, I would recommend San Juan.
If you really go outside the "box" want is an island off the mainland of Honduras and is simply great. It's called Roatan, Honduras. We went there last summer and loved it. This is a two hours flight from Houston, the sand is white and the water is turquoise, and not many people. The food was great and the people are so sweet. The possibilities are endless ...

If you are at reasonable prices .. I do not even know check Atlantis, but you can stay at the Comfort Suites on the road for 1 / 2 price and yet access to the water park. This is not included .. and restaurants in the area is very expensive. (can walk on the bridge in Nassau .. cheaper options for dining and food in general) is much better.
